For the 7th year in a row, La Petite France Restaurant’s Cultural Events will present its Vive La France! Festival in commemoration of the 217th Anniversary of the French Revolution.

This year’s event begins at 9 pm on Friday, July 14th, Bastille Day, with a Concert – Gala Dinner. Ten-year old Russian violin virtuoso, Ivan Tuvaev, will be accompanied by Carolina Rodríguez on the piano, for a light yet formal concert of classical music.

The Super Gala six-course dinner will follow, designed especially for the occasion by Chef Owner Nacho Cadena and his Executive Chef, Armando Silvas. It will be a marvelous gastronomical journey through the different regions of France, and other fruit of the authors’ modern inspiration. Moreover, the dinner will be enhanced by Cesareo’s romantic songs, accompanied by Carlos Lago on the piano.

At 11 am on Saturday, July 22nd, the Festival continues with an extraordinary conference entitled “The French Revolution - A Light in the Darkness of Thought,” led by Samuel Gómez Luna Cortés, coordinator of the Juvenile Chapter of the Benemérita Sociedad de Geografía y Estadística of the State of Jalisco.

This 21-year old intellectual will talk about some of the lead players in the French Revolution and his philosophical thoughts. Open to the public, free admission, in the Cultural Mezzanine of La Petite France.

Thursday, July 27th at 8:30 pm, begins the Tertulia: “Sabores y aromas alrededor de un piano.” This is a gathering of amateurs of good food and good wine, enjoying themselves while chatting about music, song, gastronomy, travel, art and other experiences of the senses.

Carlos Lago will play the piano and tell about his own experiences as a musician. Cesáreo will delight us with his romantic songs and mellifluous voice, and that night, La Petite will offer the most incredible display of breads and cheeses to accompany a Tequila and wine tasting. An evening not to be missed.

To conclude the Festival in a spectacular fashion: “A Gastronomical Dialogue between Two Old Friends,” featuring Héctor Pérez García and Nacho Cadena himself, facing off with their particular experiences in gastronomy, with a focus on the history and evolution of French cuisine and its food.

This event, sponsored by the Benemérita Sociedad de Geografía y Estadística of the State of Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta Chapter, is open to the public, totally free of charge, in the Cultural Mezzanine of La Petite France on Friday, August 4th, at 8 pm.

This 7th Vive La France! Festival promises to be simply spectacular. This is Puerto Vallarta’s grand fiesta commemorating yet another anniversary of the French Revolution.
