The Glamorous, Hippies and "Liz" Celebrated at the Last Party at Casa Kimberly

Costumes of old Hollywood and the 1960's were abundant at Elizabeth Taylor's and Richard Burton's home in Puerto Vallarta, Casa Kimberly, where Janice Chatterton recently hosted a Swinging Sixties party to raise funds for the local SPCA.

Costumes of old Hollywood and the 1960's were abundant at the fundraiser at Casa Kimberly (Elizabeth Taylor's and Richard Burton's home in Puerto Vallarta) for SPCA (care of animals.)

Guests especially enjoyed viewing Elizabeth Taylor's bathroom. It is decorated in pink with tiles that look like some of the patterned dresses she wears. The top level of the home provides beautiful views of the area. Conversations turned to how different the view looks now from when the stars lived there, with high-rises now prominent.

Mariaches played on the pink street arch connecting the stars' two homes. Sixties music was provided by a DJ as guests visited with each other. The large bar on the second floor was busy all evening. Other rooms featured plates of food. Many photos of Casa Kimberly were taken for memories.

Janice Chatterton, who threw the party, is adding this site to her luxury boutique hotels. Her hotel, Hacienda San Angel, was Richard Burton's home at one time.

Another Vallarta era, tied to the filming of The Night of the Iguana, is ended.
