Proceeds from the International Friendship Club's home tours go to help the IFC cleft palate program. For more information, call (322) 222-5466 or email ifcvallarta(at)gmail.com.
Many persons in our area have had or have Dengue. The Jalisco State Health Department urges citizens not to drop their guard. Jalisco's public health director, Elizabeth Ulloa, emphasizes the need to remove junk from patios and terraces and to make sure water does not collect in outdoor utensils.

The director says the Aedes Aegypti mosquito will continue to breed and cooling weather isn't likely to decrease the situation. The dengue-carrying mosquitoes may be adapting to colder climates, according to authorities.

"Evening Under the Stars" at Hacienda San Angel's Puerta del Cielos is on Saturday, November 28, beginning at 6:30 pm. The evening includes drinks and hors d'oeuvres, a live auction and a buffet dinner. Music groups, Katmandu and Mariachis Joya de Mexico, will perform. This is a fund raiser for the SPCA that helps animals. Tickets are sold at the hotel or at Cassandra Shaw's jewelry store on Basilio Badillo.

The Orchid Society will meet at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens, south of town, at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 28. Discussion will include a fund raising project for a conservatory to house the collection of Mexican orchids.

The restaurant, Expresso (222-3272), I. L. Vallarta 279-A, is a fun establishment serving Italian food. It has an Italian neighborhood feeling. You often can put together your own dishes you want to order, just the way you like them. Every kind of pasta on earth is available. The same with the tasty pizza. Enjoy!

Home tours, sponsored by the International Friendship Club (IFC), are underway now. Proceeds go to help the IFC cleft palate program. For further information, call (322) 222-5466 or email: ifcvallarta(at)gmail.com.

For really good food, try the Spanish restaurant, La Albuffera Paella (293-5530), Viena 369 in Col. Versalles. Tel: 293-5530.

A beautifully decorated restaurant, Pan&Que?, Peru 1002, provides a lovely setting for an equally delicious meal. It is across from Parque Hidalgo. Tel: (322) 223-0500. We felt as if we were in a small French neighborhood restaurant with the stained glass windows from the Refugio Church that are beautiful.

I write in the cold of the U.S.A. with rain, sleet and snow present. I look forward to the warmth of Puerto Vallarta in a couple of days... and to seeing so many of you.
