On Saturday, February 27th in Puerto Vallarta the new pirate ship, the Black Pearl, made its grand entrance into the marine terminal in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. The Pirates of the Bay company was proud to invite over 700 guests and delight them with a spectacular dinner party whose centerpiece was the lovely silhouette of the Black Pearl, a modern vessel whose wooden covering and pirate decoration make one feel as if they are part of Captain Morgan's crew.

The distinguished guest list included important businessmen, hotel executives, travel agencies and many members of Vallarta's movers and shakers who enjoyed the new show "The Crystal Skull" which will be performed nightly on BOTH of the pirate ships that Pirates of the Bay now owns and operates on the peaceful waters of Banderas Bay.

"With this new, modern ship called the Black Pearl we can now offer in conjunction with the Marigalante a unique pirate show to over 1,100 passengers per day," said Sergio Coronel, the general manager of Pirates of the Bay. "It was designed from the very beginning to ensure the maximum comfort and functionality of up to 350 passengers at a time, due to its industrial sized, stainless-steel kitchen which would be at home in any of the area's first class hotels, a huge dining room with pirate decorations throughout, equipment for water sports such as banana boats, snorkeling equipment, eight ocean kayaks, ten boogie boards, a sophisticated audio/video system and even spacious bathrooms made with marble and teak finishings."

For over 11 years the Marigalante (the company's first ship, which is an authentic replica of the Santa Maria which sailed with Colombus over 500 years ago) has sailed around the world two and a half times and received over 600,000 passengers onboard from dozens of countries around the globe. It offers two tours a day that have quickly become a symbol of the city of Puerto Vallarta. The tours end literally with a bang each evening, that is to say with an incredible fireworks display in front of the boardwalk (Malecón).

The arrival of the Black Pearl means that real pirate battles will take place each night in the waters of Banderas Bay to the delight of passengers on board and tourists around the region who will watch in awe as the two ships go at each other. For families who want to have a great time on the beach after enjoying a fun pirate show, or for young adults who wish to enjoy an evening of music and dancing pirate-style, either one of the two pirate ships now setting sail off Puerto Vallarta will be a must see!

"Pirates of the Bay", "Piratas de la Bahía", "Marigalante" and "The Black Pearl" are names of the ships property of Adargatis, SA de CV. For more information please contact Marketing and Special Projects Manager Michael McPherson at (322) 209-2144 or mmcpherson(at)piratesofthebaypv.com.

Sergio Coronel el gerente general de Pirates of the Bay.
