The best Mexican golfer of all time said that Riviera Nayarit has excellent characteristics to attract group tourism and golfers from all over the world.
Lorena Ochoa, the number one Mexican golfer in the world, described Riviera Nayarit as a privileged destination with extraordinary golf courses, but more importantly, as a place with friendly people who offer high-quality services.

"Every time I visit Riviera Nayarit, I get first-class service from amiable people who want to succeed and constantly keep moving forward. I'd love to stay here and play at each one of the area's beautiful courses, but this time I can't do it - I'll play the IV Aeromexico Golf Tournament and I'll have to leave," she said at a pre-tournament press conference.

Lorena noted that promoting Riviera Nayarit through golf has been a step in the right direction, as large groups and families with significant purchasing power come here to practice this sport, contributing greatly to the local economy.

She also pointed out the quality of the six golf courses located in Riviera Nayarit, which are not only beautiful but also pose interesting challenges for players. She said that one of reasons why she has been contributing to the promotion of Riviera Nayarit is because they fully support Mexican golf.

"I know that a lot of hard work has been put into promoting golf, and I'm really happy about it. I'm sure that the Duramed Futures Tour, which I played once, was a major event here in Riviera Nayarit. You have my support to promote everything that has to do with Mexican golf, whether by doing it directly or by participating in this tournament. We have to support each other and keep up this positive work," she insisted.

At the IV Aeromexico Golf Tournament, Lorena Ochoa recommended attendants to speak positively about Mexico, to promote Riviera Nayarit and its natural wonders, as well as the culture and traditions that both national and foreign tourists can find in this country.

To conclude, the golfer mentioned that "When we hear bad news, we spend days talking about it, but when it's good news, we talk about it for half an hour and then it's over, like when people merely say 'Oh look, she won.' I believe we have to keep a positive attitude, stay positive and think about success. This is why I always speak well about my country with the people I meet during the competitions, and also at interviews. I talk to them about the beauty that can be found here in Riviera Nayarit, of its golf courses, and of my home state Jalisco. We all need to do this."

The golfer's comments support the promotional strategies for Riviera Nayarit that the State Governor, Ney Gonzalez Sanchez has headed relentlessly, especially at times like these where external factors have slowed down the economy of the country and of the state.

On the morning of Thursday, September 23rd, Lorena Ochoa offered workshops for Aeromexico's special guests, including its most important clients, executives and commercial partners, and spent time with them on the course. The IV Aeromexico Golf Tournament was played at El Tigre Golf & Country Club in Nuevo Vallarta, Riviera Nayarit. This fascinating course was designed by Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, and has been classified as one of the best courses in Mexico, according to specialized publications like Golf Guide Magazine & Golf in Mexico Magazine.
