Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico - Most everyone has heard of the party bus. But in Mexico, exuberant travelers can climb aboard the tequila train.

For fans of history and booze alike, the José Cuervo Express is a vintage train that shuttles you from Guadalajara to Tequila on an all-you-can-drink excursion across the blue agave landscape, before dropping you off to tour the company's 250-year-old distillery.

This luxurious train, which has been around for a few years and runs primarily on Saturdays, now offers three different classes of tequila experiences: Express, Premium and Premium Plus. Prices range from around $110 to $130 USD per person, and you get your pick of whether you'd like to take the train one-way to or from Tequila (you'll be taken by bus to or from Guadalajara, depending on your choice).

While each package comes with tequila cocktails included, the Premium Plus is the ticket that grants you access to the open bar where the premium liquors are flowing. Premium passengers also enjoy a luxurious ride in the "most exclusive" coach on the train, and are treated to a number of special perks, including seasonal fruit before boarding and an assortment of Mexican snacks and cocktails served to you in your seat.

No matter which package you choose, the hour-long train ride aboard the Jose Cuervo Express is an enjoyable and unforgettable experience in a festive atmosphere. Once in Tequila, you can learn about harvesting agave and take part in a tour of Cuervo's La Rojeña distillery.

After the distillery tour, you'll have some free time to explore the town of Tequila and grab some lunch before rejoining the tour for the special Mexican cultural show and premium tequila toast that are included in the ticket price.

If you'd like to visit the town of Tequila - one of Mexico's designated magical towns, or Pueblos Magícos - hop on the José Cuervo Express. As tequila enthusiasts like to say, you're not just drinking liquor, you're drinking history.
