Fauvism and Colorful Detailed Paintings by Judith Diaz-Infante Elizabeth Ortega - PVNN
| Elizabeth Ortega painting in Isla Mujeres | Fauvism: from the French word meaning “furious beast”. A style that was adopted by artists associated with Matisse between 1905 and 1908. Accepted as a cultural movement because of its spontaneous themes and vivid colors, using the pure emotion as a basic instrument, artists of Fauvism basically create as they go; one of the basic things to look for in Fauvism is the extended use of primary colors.
It’s amazing to see an old technique from France portrayed with such success by a 28 year old artist.
Judith Diaz-Infante was born in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, in 1977, a city that she never knew as a child, for her parents traveled all over Mexico, settling finally in Tijuana, Baja California in the late 80´s.
Judith lived her teenage years between musicians, artists, writers and visual artists from Tijuana, a city which is known for it’s controversial art movement, a city where art is more than creating, it’s a movement of expression and workmanship where artists work together to better their creativity; never the less it is still an environment that for an artist it takes them in and keeps them wrapped in controversial creativity.

| Mundo de Pintor | Judith studied Graphic Design trying desperately to work with design and publicity, but that creative urge made her decide to travel. And this is when she found herself visiting places such as Oaxaca, Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Chiapas and other mystical places, going back always to her home in Tijuana.
Until one day she decided to go to her parent’s birthplace where she met a unique painter by the name Ignacio García who teaches in this little town called “El Grullo” rite in the center of the state of Jalisco.
A little town with a big heart, and the promise of helping this young artist to develop her unique style and find love alongside Ignacio, where before she was full of strong emotions portrayed in relief works, always working towards emitting her dislike of man’s overuse of the environment. Now they both created their own little heaven, in El Grullo where we find the only gallery in existence “Infinito Via color”, not only is it run by Judith and Ignacio it´s also their little paradise workshop where they go to paint in between her travels.
Judith Diaz-Infante´s work is a full representative of her imagination, her colors are beautifully balanced, her technique well established and her images quiet delightful. Still working with nature, she describes still her dislike for its abuse but in a more centered way, simplifying the materials but using them to their great extent.
Her paintings always hide another truth, always holding back information, at a first glimpse we see a figure that with time changes and converts itself to something different. Everlasting changes in her paintings give her artwork depth in simplicity, in a world where emotion is the basic tool.
Now she travels to Oaxaca where she paints in the gardens “art is for the people, art is for everyone, art should not be encapsulated within four walls, but let out to be viewed and for a moment maybe change the life of a person in one single rush of emotion”, she commented.
Judith Diaz-Infante has also had exhibits in Sacramento California, USA. Tijuana, Baja California, Mex. The gardens of Oaxaca City, Mexico. And now we can view examples of her work in Galería Gradiva, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.
