The World Comes to Puerto Vallarta Josef Kandoll - PVNN
On its return to Puerto Vallarta, the World cruise ship scheduled two complete days on its recent visit. In the exciting days in this port city, residents and visitors enjoyed lunches, cocktails and a final, gourmet dinner prepared by the hands of Chef Thierry Blouet of Café des Artistes.
A number of local restaurants served the owners of suites aboard one of the most deluxe cruise ships in the entire world. In addition to a welcome lunch and cocktail at Daiquiri Dick's, gourmet meals were par for the course at Café des Artistes and Thierry Blouet Cocina de Autor, Tequilas, Vitea and Trio, La Palapa and Los Xitomates. Local Vallarta resident Harry Reifschneider and his wife Blanca, who own an apartment on board, hosted a celebratory cocktail party for the crew at the newly inaugurated Cabana Club.
On the second day, a special lunch was prepared on deck for a number of Vallartans preceded by a cocktail in the lounge. A tour of the ship gave a first-hand view of life on this super ocean-liner, which can actually be booked for reservations (see www.aboardtheworld.com) for worldwide travel.
On the final night, the culmination was a special ceremony inducting the local members of Chaine des Rotisseurs with the on-board Les Chevaliers de le Meduce by President Aloyssius Pappert. Thierry Blouet was knighted and certificates were presented to each member, including Tequilas' Hector Pérez García. Dinner followed, enjoyed by other locals including Municipal President Gustavo González Villaseñor and his wife Gloria.
As The World sailed away to San Diego via Cabo San Lucas, Thierry Blouet and his wife Rosa Martha remained on board. Chef Blouet prepared the evening meals for the entire week, relying on his newly developed sea legs. The World Visita Puerto Vallarta
