For more information call 044 322-105-7217 or send an email to pvbotanicalgardens@hotmail.com. | Whether you are an Orchid lover, a bird watcher, a budding gardener, or just someone who wants to learn more about tropical plants, the Botanical Gardens offer visitors a chance to enjoy a beautiful mountain setting filled with tropical flora and fauna.
The brainchild of mother and son team Betty and Bob Price, the Botanical Gardens are home to a large (and growing) collection of plants that are indigenous to Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area, a restaurant, a river swimming hole, and shade houses where young plants get their start.
Located on Highway 200 between Puerto Vallarta and El Tuito, the Botanical Gardens just keep getting bigger and better. Come visit and watch us grow! Here are just a few of the events planned at the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens in October:
Sunday, Oct. 1st Grand Re-Opening and Blessing of The Gardens by Father Miguel A. Guzman from El Tuito
Monday, Oct. 2nd Bird watching walking tour through the Gardens
Tuesday, Oct. 3rd "Mexican Laelia 0rchid Species" lecture by Curator Roberto Price
Wednesday, Oct. 4th Mexican Tillandsias and Other Aerial Plants. Culture and Cultivation forum.
Thursday, Oct. 5th "Butterflies of Mexico" Fun and informative walk through The Butterfly Gardens. Butterfly nets are available for sale at the Gardens.
Friday, Oct. 6th Our Soon-to-be-Unforgettably-Famous Fish Fry at the Ol Plantation House
Saturday, Oct. 7th Tour and Demonstration of Statuary Factory in our facilities. Bird watching in our various Bird Sanctuaries. Have your binoculars and cameras ready! Discussion groups, Porch Bliss, Q&A Forum.
Open daily from 10 am-6 pm, the gardens are located 24 Km south of town, just 3 Km past Chicos Paradise. The bus to El Tuito will stop at the entrance to the Gardens, and will return you to town. Admission to the Gardens is free, as are the talks.
Details for your visit: Food and Beverages are available on-site at the Plantation House Pets are allowed, but must be on a leash. Consider bringing comfortable closed-toe shoes, sun hat, bathing suit and a towel. Keep in mind it is cooler in the mountains, so a jacket may be desired.
