"Join us November 22 through 25 2006 for the fouth edition of the Riviera Maya Jazz Festival"
Ing. Dario Flota Ocampo
General Director
Riviera Maya Tourism Board
The fourth edition of the Rivera Maya Jazz Festival will bring jazz, R&B, and funk artists to the beautiful beaches of Playa de Carmen for four nights of musical performances, from Nov. 22 to 25.

The event has become a mainstay of the Riviera Maya’s musical scene, providing visitors with a great opportunity to enjoy musicians showcase their talent against a backdrop of paradisiacal beaches. The closing concert of the festival will take place in one of the most exclusive hotels in Playa de Carmen; the Royal Porto Real.

This year’s program is as follows:

• Wednesday, Nov. 22: Inauguration starts with performances by jazz and funk music icon Screaming Headless Torsos with guitarist David Fucinzcky

• Thursday, Nov. 23: Mint Condition will perform accompanied by Wet Paint

• Friday, Nov. 24: Kool & the Gang, a legendary group with 30 years of great hits will be accompanied by composer Tom Coster

• Saturday, Nov. 25: A special tribute to the Beatles, performed by Tom Coster, Nacho Mendez and other special guests, will close the festival.

Located in the Mexican Caribbean in the state of Quintana Roo, the Riviera Maya is conveniently located just 11 miles south of Cancun International Airport. The region begins at Puerto Morelos and ends at Felipe Carrillo Puerto, occupying about 100 miles of coastline. The Riviera Maya offers an array of hotels and resorts for every lifestyle and budget.
