Latin troubadour Nicho Hinojosa, whose 1999 album "En El Bar" flew out of stores and grabbed the attention of BMG Ariola recording company, will be performing live in concert on Friday, November 24th at Disco Christine in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Born Dionisio Hinojosa, Nicho was born in Monterrey Mexico, and began singing at the age of eight. Influenced by classic rock bands, he started playing drums in a local ensemble, emerging as a multi-instrumentalist after attending Monterrey's Escuela Superior de Música y Danza, a prestigious Mexican school of music and dance.
His education included everything from percussion to French horn, piano, guitar and voice - and that fact shows in the remarkable maturity and assurance of his solo work. In 1993, the singer/songwriter joined a collective called Guitarras por el Mundo (Guitars around the World,) issuing "String Five" and a self-titled album.
That same year, Hinojosa debuted as a solo artist with the release of "Detrás del Horizonte." After releasing several other popular albums, Hinojosa came out with 1999's "En El Bar," which flew out of stores and grabbed the attention of BMG Ariola. They re-released the album and it went on to sell over six hundred million copies. 2003's Vivir Como Antes continued in a similar vein.
