Due to the high demand of her loyal followers, Mama Dolores will make an encore appearance at Banana Cantina's Local Celebrity Night on March 7th.
To make your reservations or to learn more about this month's Local Celebrity Night at Banana Cantina, call 222-2114 or email PVbananacantina@aol.com.
Debbi & Mike Egan, owners of restaurant Banana Cantina, Amapas #147 at Pulpito, have made every Wednesday night "Local Celebrity Night" and donated to a charity here in Vallarta, giving 10% of the house to the chosen charity.

On March 7th, Mama Dolores returns due to the high demand of her loyal followers. She will push her way into your heart and again raise funds for Alfredo V. Bonfil Primary School. Last time they were able to purchase windows for three classrooms!

According to Mary Ellis, Becas Vallarta, AC has been selected as the charity for Wednesday, March 14th and Wednesday, March 21st, 2007 with Local Celebrity Guest Hosts Polly Vicars and Peter Gray, respectively.

Polly Vicars, author of "Tales of Retirement in Paradise" and "More Tales of Retirement in Puerto Vallarta and Around the World," will host Wednesday, March 14th's Local Celebrity Night. Polly has already donated all proceeds from both books to Becas, and hopes to raise even more on this special night.

Peter Gray, who will guest host on March 21st, is a local painter and author, who painted "Pidiendo Posada," had 500 posters made, and donated the proceeds to Becas. Not one to rest on his laurels, Peter then wrote "All is Safely Gathered In" and donated all proceeds from its sale to Becas as well.

Peter also founded the Art Museum at the CUC (Vallarta campus of the University of Guadalajara,) which now has over 70 pieces of art. CUC has named the museum in his honor! Don't miss your chance to meet this talented and generous man at Banana Cantina on Wednesday, March 21st.

Come and enjoy a good meal, have fun and help fund scholarships for some of Vallarta's bright but economically challenged students. Raffle prizes include signed copies of their books, dinner certificates and some surprises, so bring along some extra pesos to get into the action. Drawing of the prizes will be made at 9:30 pm.

Local Celebrity nights are VERY popular so reservations are essential. Call Banana Cantina, Virtual Vallarta Reader's Choice Awards 2006 "Best New Restaurant," at 222-2114 for your reservation for one of both of these nights.

Located on the corner of Pulpito and Amapas, in the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta, Banana Cantina boasts a totally unique menu featuring creative Contemporary Mexican Cuisine and International dishes and an eclectic ambiance created by a colorful, yet comfortable, decor.
