Becas Ball This Friday! PVNN
| There are very few tickets left, but you can call Mary Ellis at 222-1478 to see if she can still fit you in. | On March 9th, 2007, Becas Vallarta celebrates 45 years of providing scholarships for bright, ambitious Puerto Vallarta youth of little economic means - and you can help by attending the Becas Ball, Puerto Vallarta's social event of the year.
This year, the traditional Becas Ball will be celebrated beside the beach at the Westin Resort and Spa Hotel. The "Dazzle in Starlight" theme, coordinated by Michael Schultz of Kit Kat, promises an evening under the stars that you won't soon forget.
The Beca Ball kicks off with a free cocktail hour, featuring Vallarta's favorite musical group, Los Bambinos, strolling, strumming and serenading guests on the resort's sea-side patio. Cocktail hour will be followed by a delicious dinner, live entertainment, dancing and plenty of "dazzle" on the Westin's Patio Los Arcos.
All of this for just $700 pesos ($65 USD) per person! Proceeds from the event will help Becas Vallarta A.C. to continue its work in helping to ensure that hundreds more of the city's bright but needy children will get the education they deserve - as they have been doing for forty-five years - so don't miss it!
TIPS FOR THOSE ATTENDING THE BECAS BALL
To avoid any confusion about how to get to the Patio Los Arcos at the Westin Resort and Spa, please note that it is outside (by the ocean) in front of the Regina Club - which is past the main part of the hotel.
If you are a lady, you can have your gallant escort drop you at the main lobby, after which he needs to park at the regular parking area. You will both then go down the elevators as you would to the banquet rooms, go out into the garden and walk on nice paths that will have signs and Becas Students showing you the way.
Or, the gallant men can drop you at the lobby of the Regina Club and go back to the parking area. There are elevators that will take you quite close to the Patio Los Arcos area.
Since this is an open-air event, it is highly advisable to bring a shawl, wrap or other garment in case you get chilly as the night goes on. There are very few tickets left, but you can call Mary Ellis at 222-1478 to see if she can still fit you in.
