Unpublished Texts by Marti Printed Prensa Latina
Havana, Cuba - Researchers from the CEM (Center on Marti Studies) presented a notebook containing notes by Cuban National Hero Jose Marti (1853-1895) and two new American scenes that had never been published.
The notebook was written in mid 1894 or early 1895 and shows Marti s considerations on human weaknesses, according to CEM researcher Pedro Pablo Rodriguez, who published the critical edition of Marti s Complete Works, Juventud Rebelde reported.
"It is a rather small notebook, which in fact enriches our knowledge of him and his understanding of humankind," added Rodriguez.
The announcement was made at the first session of the Fifth Common Front of Ideas on Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth), in southern Cuba, where a debate on Cuba s realities on the Internet is being held.
According to Rodriguez, the reasons why the guardians of Marti s texts did not revealed the original documents are unknown.
Two new American Scenes, entitled "Del Viejo al Nuevo Mundo" (From the Old to the New World) and "Proa al Mar" (Prow to the Sea), written in the 1880s for Latin American newspaper, were also published.
Participants in the forum will visit El Abra farm, where Jose Maria Sarda welcomed Jose Marti in 1870, before the Cuban National Hero was deported to Spain at the age of 17. |
