Look soon for Vallarta and Broadway musical entertainer Sol Rose's new show of songs, produced by T. J. Hartung of the Curtain Call Community Theater. Sol, who co-owns popular Cafe Bohemio, also will be doing a cooking show right here on BanderasNews, the first segment called "Meatloaf and Melodies," with Sol cooking and singing. He also may be appearing on a major network food show. Additionally, posters and tickets for a rock īnī roll show produced by Eileen O'Leary and T.J. Hartung that opens November 28th at the Curtain Call Community Theater, off of the main plaza, are out around town.
Home and Garden Tours, sponsored by the International Friendship Club (IFC), to benefit local charities, are beginning November 20, 21 and 22 in Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and Punta de Mita, with tours of eye-catching homes, condos and villas of varied architecture. The Vallarta Botanical Gardens are included on one of the home tours. South Shore home tours are 10:30 am - 2 pm on Wednesday and Thursday (includes the Gardens) departing from the Hacienda Restaurant, Lazaro Cardenas 388, $350 pesos or $35 USD donation.

A fund raiser for Sally Conley's Biblioteca de la Higuera for children will be held on Monday, November 26th from 6-9 pm at Calle Hidalgo 256 in El Pitillal. Tickets cost $250 pesos each, including food, two drinks and two raffle tickets. This year at the library there will be a variety of speciality gift baskets created by volunteers for purchase. Gifts That Give will take place November 23rd and 24th from noon-10 pm at Epoca Restaurant on the Malecon extension. Fifteen vendors will sell wooden keepsake boxes to handmade glass items from wall and hand mirrors to refrigerator magnets. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a fund to help children in this area who need emergency health care. A celebration of the opening of Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Basilio Badillo 276, is scheduled to take place from 7-10 pm on Saturday, November 17th. Look for a new eye-catching card featuring a male modeling jewelry.
Vallarta and Banderas Bay authors will have their books available at Biblioteca Los Mangos Public Library on the 11th anniversary of the library on Saturday, November 24th, from noon-2 pm.
A lot of concern and action is being expressed about the flooding in Tabasco State. Paul Crist of Hotel Mercurio, Calle Francisca Rodriguez 168, collected non-perishable food items, baby formula and basic medicines to be delivered to the Red Cross here. Call 222-4793 to check if further help is needed. The Treehouse Bar and Grill (Miguelito's,) PV Pirates Motorcycle Club and PV Choppers also are gathering in food, clothing, water and cash donations. Please drop them off at the Treehouse, Basilio Badillo 287, Casa Robby and Chio, 149/151 Gaviotas/Marina, or at PV Choppers in Nuevo Vallarta.

On All Saints evening, we took a beautiful evening walk to the government building on the main plaza to view the lovely displays of altars with their photographs, flowers, fruit and candles. We also viewed the Hurricane Kenna photos of Tribuna's talented photographer, Javier Perez. He dramatically captured the water surge and the aftermath of damage that occurred in Vallarta five years ago.
