Doggie Day at Daiquiri Dick's
email this pageprint this pageemail usLaura Gelezunas - PVNN

On Saturday, December 8th, Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta will once again be "going to the dogs" as they host the second annual Pet Picnic to benefit Ayuda a los Animales, part of the PEACE charity association.
It's that time again! For the second year in a row, Daiquiri Dick's restaurant is going to the dogs - so grab your best friend and head on out to the Pet Picnic.

Offering Puerto Vallarta visitors and pet owners the opportunity to have some fun in the sun for a worthy cause, and dogs a chance to strut their stuff and enjoy some treats, this year's Pet Picnic will be held Saturday, December 8th at 11 am on Playa de los Muertos behind Daiquiri Dick's restaurant. Enjoy a boxed lunch and, of course, there's a doggie bag for your pal.

Last year, over 60 dogs and their best friends made an appearance at this fun-filled event, raising almost $12,000 pesos for the Animal Shelter of Puerto Vallarta. This year, Pet Picnic proceeds will go to Ayuda a los Animales, Help the Animals, part of the PEACE charity association.

"I feel strongly that we need to support our animals, because they have no voice. We have to be their voice and we have to take care of them," says Helen Hartung, an Animal Lover, "All they give is unconditional love."

Audience participation is encouraged for the Best Costume and Best Trained contests. There's going to be a raffle with all kinds of great items and door prizes, too. This is also a great chance to meet other animal lovers.

Tickets are $175 pesos in advance and $225 at the door. You can purchase them at Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant or The Deli. Space is limited, so get your tickets early. This year's Pet Picnic promises to be another tail wagging event!
