Roberto López Ramírez has been part of Sol y Luna ~ Contemporary Art Gallery since its opening in Puerto Vallarta in October of 2006. He has a great friendship with Alejandro Baez, the Owner, Director and Curator of the Art Exhibitions of the two Sol y Luna Art Galleries, who said:
"I have known Roberto since I lived and worked in Santa Fe, New Mexico in some of the best Art Galleries of that beautiful and unique city. He loves to create in his paintings androgineous faces boxed inside a window and coming out to us to reveal their true identities. Since I met Roberto five years ago, he has always struck me as an artist that even at his young age of 33 years, knows exactly what he is doing and where he is heading! I know that he will eventually become one of the Best Mexican Painters! I feel honored to exhibit his unique artwork in my galleries so that the public can come and enjoy them and take them to their homes all around the world."
About the Artist
Roberto López Ramírez loves to paint the true colors of life with the eyes and the brush of a real Mexican Artist. He paints Nature with Animals and Humans, intergrating them in one being and giving them a form of mystical living organism.
Roberto entered to study Art at the University of Guadalajara at the early age of 15. His student freinds were all much older then him and were very impressed by the great talent and unique way to express himself on the canvas. His teachers all knew that he had a special talent and encouraged him to continue with his exploration of his own unique style.
Roberto´s most influential teachers, Jorge Martínez and Jesús Mata, helped him to find his form of expression and set him on his way to his Artistic maturation.
Though in his work, the artist’s skillful hand can be perceived in his excellent drawings with attentive to detail, Roberto says, "I don't think much about what comes out of my imagination when I'm working. I sometimes call them Alebrijes or the animal spirits, since they provide a living organic element."
Galeria Sol y Luna invites you to come and meet this talented artist at a wine reception on Wednesday, January 9th from 6 to 10 pm. For more information, stop by the gallery at Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez #155 A in downtown Puerto Vallarta, call (322) 113-0475 or visit SolyLunaPV.com |
