Passports Soon Needed to Cross US Borders Catherine Sherriffs - CJADgo to original
Soon, you won't be able to enter the United States with a simple driver's license.
US customs and Border Protection agents have started handing out copies of the new regulations to both Canadian and American citizens at various points of entry.
Starting January 31st, the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative will require travellers 19 and older to produce a passport, NEXUS card or other secure ID at Canadian and Mexican border points.
A driver's license, coupled with a birth certificate or other ID, will be permitted until next June. |
