In Puerto Vallarta, Miracles DO Happen PVNN
| | Thanks to some honest and caring people, what could have been a nightmare turned into a small miracle for one Puerto Vallarta visitor. | | | | Puerto Vallarta - On Wednesday evening, after dinner at one of the local restaurants, I realized that I was missing my purse and had probably dropped it in the taxi that had taken me to the restaurant.
I then spent several hours trying to track down that same taxi. The dispatcher of taxis at Dreams was most helpful and did all he could, but we could not locate the taxi and it all seemed like a lost cause.
I was very upset because the purse contained a credit card, my ATM card, 2000 pesos and most troubling the password and user IDs for my bank and credit cards.
The next day, while I was playing tennis, a friend came to the courts and told me the owners of Espresso Restaurant, Amalia and Harvey Tolkin, had found my purse in the taxi. They then went above and beyond, as I had dozens of papers in the wallet ...and only ONE which showed the local phone number of a friend. This was the same friend who then came to the tennis courts to tell the of my good fortune.
Naturally, there were other forms of identifications in my wallet, but none had my local phone number or address.
We always hear of negative stories about being on vacation and having things go missing, stolen etc. But in this case it was the opposite. Thanks to some honest and caring people.
When I went to the restaurant to retrieve my purse I met Amalia and Harvey Tolkin and after thanking them profusly I decided to have lunch at their restaurant with my friend's friends. Lunch at their restaurant was a treat with absolute great salads and the most wonderful thin crust pizza.
For a New Yorker, who knows good Italian food, this was a great discovery and added something extra special to the entire day.
So what could have been a horrible nightmare for me turned into my having new friends in Amalia and Harvey and a great new restaurant to visit.
Yes, small miracles DO happen! - Roz Goldstein |
