Puerto Vallarta Sojourns Spell Romance and Memories The Province go to original
Visiting Canadians share their excitement of the city, the people, the scenery and the beautiful sunsets while in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
MASSAGE, BUBBLY AND BOAT CRUISE
We were on a romantic trip when we stayed at the Villa Premiere Hotel & Spa in Puerto Vallarta. After being welcomed to the hotel with massage and glass of Champagne, we were in love.
We then went for a walk along the Malecon where we could people watch and then enjoy margaritas for only 10 pesos each at the Cheeky Monkey Bar.
One day, we took the Rancho Capomo tour which was an amazing adventure of horseback riding to the top of a mountain and then swimming under a waterfall.
Later that night we went on the Rhythms of the Night boat cruise that took us to an island for dinner. It was a memorable experience! - Natasha Jervis, Vancouver
BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS
The last time my wife and I were in Puerto Vallarta was in 1981 on our honeymoon. This was the most romantic time of our lives and we decided to recapture the moments we enjoyed so much of the city, the people, the scenery and the beautiful sunsets last December.
The sunsets looking out from the Malecon are some of the most beautiful in the world. The sun was just about to set as we were sitting together on a bench looking at the ocean when a flock of pelicans flew by to add that little extra touch.
The church in old downtown, the Lady of Guadelupe,is by far the most famous landmark. - William Schaap, Mission
SIX VISITS ALREADY
Nothing feels more wonderful in winter than to step off a flight into Puerto Vallarta's sunshine. Our family has been to this sun spot six times and we'd go every year if it was possible.
There is lots to do such as snorkelling at Los Arcos, horse-back riding, jungle tours, etc.
A typical day is spent lazing at the large resort pool, soaking up the the sun, napping and taking a local bus to town, for 40 cents, to walk the Malecon and find a small local restaurant for great Mexican food. Sundays bring out local artisans and all the locals are dressed in their Sunday best. - Betty Sedawie, Delta
MEMORABLE SPRING
As conversations about spring break become more frequent, I find myself fondly looking back to last spring break when I went to Mexico with a group of fellow students on a school trip. I particularly remember one day.
The morning started with wind and rain which made us wonder what we were doing outside, huddled together wrapped in our beach towels on one of Puerto Vallarta's stunning beaches. By noon, though, the skies had cleared, so we proceeded to have games of Frisbee that stretched the complete length of the beach and to enjoy the water for the entire day. - Derek Takahashica, Langley |
