Planning your next vacation through social network sites may be rewarding

Malaga, Spain - Gays travel and more importantly they still travel a lot!

Recent Gay pride in Madrid attracted as many as 150,000 gay visitors from outside Spain. Madrid town hall supports event through an advertising campaign in media throughout Europe. And Madrid is not the only one: Berlin and London, Austria and Lufthansa all bet on gay travel industry. Scandinavian Airlines even recently launched a dedicated gay travel page.

In the sluggish economy gay travel is one of few vibrant segments expanding rapidly. No surprise gays hit less by current slump: they are generally better educated, have better jobs and normally do not have children to take care of.

So all this means more money and more free time to spend.

Gay oriented travel industry reflects the trend: Atlantis gay cruises are fully booked, gay resorts in Puerto Vallarta and Axel exclusively gay hotels advise early booking. Gay ski weeks are somewhere in January 2009 and gay travel agencies in Europe have no offers.

Gay social networks related to travel are booming as well. Gaydar (http://www.gaydar.co.uk) which is the biggest gay portal in Europe has just upgraded its travel listings possibilities.

A brand new state of art Gay Travel Partners site (http://www.gaytp.com) is launched. The latter site integrates Gay Travel Map where you can explore gay home exchange, gay events throughout the world and do travel planning together. The site even features exclusive gay hotel discounts for its members. So all this sound good if you want to travel inexpensive and meet pals at your destination.

Gay.com (http://www.gay.com) which is #1 in the USA and Latin America has an extensive travel related portal and is great in advising on how to find that very special gay-friendly hotel in the most remote part of the world. I bet they advise gay friendly hostel in Uruguay!

The conclusion is that browsing popular internet networks can help you save money and make your next trip more special than just a package journey as most folks do. DonΒ΄t forget: vacation is about excitement and experience of new. So get behind your notebook, make friends and be a little bit adventurous. You might find your life is not that predictable anymore.
