Book on Fidel Castro in Mexico Prensa Latina go to original
Cuba will always be a reference of dignity and Fidel Castro a leader on par with his people and Revolution, outstanding Mexican analyst Gilberto Lopez y Rivas said in this capital.
In an emotional activity on occasion of Fidel Castro's 82nd birthday, held Wednesday in this city's Journalist Club, Lopez y Rivas presented his anthology of the Cuban Revolution leader's speeches from the 1950s till now.
The emblematic "History Will Absolve Me," "Words to Academics" and "The Second Declaration of Havana" are some of the texts included in the mentioned volume of what the Mexican columnist says is one of the longest speakers in history.
As part of celebrations in Mexico for Fidel Castro's birthday, an emotive documentary on his personality, directed by the island's late filmmaker Santiago Alvarez, was also screened.
Jesus Escamilla, on behalf of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, highlighted the Cuban leader's ethics and called to lift the prolonged US blockade against the Caribbean nation.
He also demanded the immediate release of five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in that northern country.
Representatives from the embassies of Bolivia, Venezuela, and Cuba in Mexico also attended the activity. |
