Wedding Bells for World's Heaviest Man Rob Shepherd - Broadcast UK go to original
| My Big Fat Mexican Wedding: Manuel 'Meme' Uribe, 42, says he will wed longtime girlfriend Claudia Solis on Oct. 26, 2008 in Monterrey. | | Five is to revisit its World's Heaviest Man documentary by heading back to Mexico to see him get married.
My Big Fat Mexican Wedding is a 60-minute documentary by DCD Media-owned September Films. It will chart the marriage of Manuel Uribe to his girlfriend Claudia Solis. Uribe has been a global phenomenon since his extraordinary weight hit the headlines in March 2006 following The World's Heaviest Man, which aired on Five and Discovery Channel.
Sheldon Lazarus made the original for At It (now Eyeworks UK) and is making the follow-up for September in his role as creative director of the indie. It will air on TLC in the US.
The new film will tell the story of Uribe's relationship and trace his weight loss from 1,200lbs to around 850lbs.
Five has also ordered September Films to make Juliana - My New Face, a 60-minute progress report on a girl born without a face.
Completing a hat trick of orders, September Films will make Deaf-Blind Triplets, a 60-minute documentary for Discovery Health US.
The three documentaries will form part of a seven-strong slate unveiled by DCD Rights at Mipcom on 13 October. |
