Alaska Airlines Vacations is also pleased to participate in this one of-a-kind promotion by offering 15% off Loreto vacation packages when purchased online at Alaska Airlines Vacations.
Loreto, Baja Sur, Mexico - The Loreto Visitors Bureau, the tourism promotion organization for Loreto, Baja Sur, Mexico, announces the destination's first cooperative buy one, get one free promotion, starting January 1 through January 31, 2009. Throughout the month of January, every time a Loreto, Baja Sur visitor pays for one night, one meal or one activity at a participating hotel, restaurant, car rental or tour operator, the Loreto Visitors Bureau will pick up the second night, meal or activity, respectively. Additionally, guests who booked a vacation package through Alaska Airlines Vacations will receive a 15% discount when purchased online at Alaska Airlines Vacations.

This is the new Bureau's invitation to discover one of Mexico's most charming and intriguing destinations. "In essence, every visitor during the month of January will receive every other travel purchase for free, courtesy of the Loreto Visitors Bureau," said James Spano, the bureau's Chairman. "We put together this program as a collective 'thank you' from the community and as a way to make discovering our destination and its many offerings more affordable. Even during this difficult economic period, travelers should not have to put their plans on hold, and what better way to help visitors than with a program that cuts their travel and vacationing costs in half." The Loreto Visitor Bureau was formed in November 2008 to serve as the tourism promotion organization with the mission of promoting Loreto, Baja Sur as a natural, historical destination with an abundance of eco-tourism related activities.

Nestled in between the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and the sparkling Sea of Cortez, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Loreto, Baja Sur features 155 miles of breathtaking coastline, 456 square miles of sparkling sea and five remote islands: Coronado, Del Carmen, Danzante, Monserrat and Santa Catalina, which further enhance the awe-inspiring, panoramic seascape seen from Loreto, Baja Sur's shore. The Sea of Cortez, once dubbed "the world's aquarium" by Jacques Cousteau, offers a diverse range of water-related activities, including world famous whale and turtle watching, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving and sport fishing. Land lovers, however, can enjoy island hiking, mule trekking, visiting ancient cave paintings, watching local artisans at work and just admiring Loreto's charming town and hassle free markets where visitors can feel safe to stroll the most remote corners of town or the entire length of the Malecon.

Accommodations in Loreto, Baja Sur are available in a variety of full-service hotels, charming inns and privately owned one- and two-bedroom condominium and villa residences. Conveniently located just ninety minutes from Los Angeles, the Loreto International Airport is only three miles from town.
