Puerto Vallarta - Mark your calendar for a fun-filled day of Music and Ecological Awareness at the 2nd Annual Vallarta Verde Eco Concert, featuring a lineup of the best musicians on the Puerto Vallarta music scene, this Sunday, March 29th from 2 pm-12 midnight.

This year's eco-festival, scheduled to be held at La Huerta Restaurant in Paso Ancho on the Rio Cuale, (1 & 1/2 blocks inland from the bridge at Cuale Paradise Restaurant,) is expected to be bigger and better than ever, with lots of activities for kids and a fabulous live entertainment program, that includes:

• 2:15 pm - Benediktron y Conny (Musica Alternativa)

• 3:00 pm - Querreque y Froylan (Musica Huasteca con violin)

• 3:45 pm: Azul (Musica Tradicional Mexicana)

• 4:30 pm: Los Frixoleros (Musica Tradicional Mexicana)

• 5:15 pm: Katmandu (Musica Hindu Sitara)

• 6:00 pm: Paco Barajas con Steve & Lisa York, Nacho Varela y Cristina (Jazz Latino)

• 6:45 pm: Los Bambinos (Pop Original)

• 7:30 pm: Dave Gouthro with Bob Tansen, Steve York and The Traveling Band (Rock/Pop)

• 8:15 pm: Bob Tansen (Rock & Roll)

• 9:00 pm: Los Chuyz (Rock/Reggae)

• 9:45 pm: The Traveling Band (Classic Rock)

• 10:15 pm: Don & Rhonda con Chuy y Marcos (R&B)

• 11:00 pm: Joe King Carrasco y sus Mexicubanos (Tequila Reggae)

You are sure to work up a hearty appetite after all of that music and dancing, so, in addition to the Mexican snacks, soups, entrees and staples such as hamburgers, club sandwiches, ribs, chicken, fish, shrimp and cold beverages on La Huerta's regular menu, there will also be a variety of vendors selling drinks and lighter fare.

Parking could become a problem given the number of participants and visitors expected, so Sierra Madre Canopy Tours has donated their trucks for shuttles and city buses run this route. But if you want to add a little adventure to your day, the best way to get there is to hike the road that runs upriver alongside the Rio Cuale - it makes for a lovely walk that will take you about 15 minutes inland from the Libramiento.

There will also be a recycling collection point at this entrance (Libramiento & Rio Cuale) for unwanted electronics and appliances - computers, cell phones, TVs, batteries, household appliances, etc.

For more information, send an email to vallarta_verde08(at)yahoo.com.mx, or visit the official website, GreenVallarta.blogspot.com.

We hope you can attend - and please spread the word!
