President Felipe Calderón Meets with Actor Hugh Jackman Presidencia de la República go to original
President Calderón received actor Hugh Jackman and the executives of Fox Filmed Entertainment, which produced X-Men, Origins: Wolverine.
During the meeting at the official Los Pinos residence, Hugh Jackman congratulated Mexico on the way it coped with the health contingency caused by the Influenza A/HINI virus. He also expressed his disapproval of the discriminatory attitudes against Mexicans.
The leading actor in the film invited people from all over the world to visit and discover the various points of attraction in Mexico because it is a healthy place for tourists.
The Executives of Fox Filmed Entertainment told the Mexican President that showing the film in Mexico will send the world a positive sign that daily activities have been fully resumed.
President Felipe Calderón thanked Hugh Jackman and the Fox executives for their support of Mexico. Thanks to the measures taken by Federal Government and supported by society, Mexico has resumed its place in the sphere of culture, shows and entertainment.
Lastly, the President wished the actor and the executives every success in the premiere of X-Men, Origins: Wolverine, in Mexico.
During the meeting, Hugh Jackman was accompanied by: John Palermo, film producer; James Gianopulos, President and Executive Director of Fox Filmed Entertainment; Eduardo Echeverría, Executive Vicepresident for Latin America of Fox Latin America, and Juan Carlos Lazo, Director General of Fox México.
