Cuba Restores Flights From and To Mexico Xinhua go to original June 02, 2009
Havana - Cuba restored on Monday the flights from and to Mexico out of the belief that the A/H1N1 flu outbreak has passed.
The Cuban Public Health Ministry said the end of the restrictions was also because Cuba has improved and strengthened its sanitary measures against the flu virus.
The ministry said in a communique that the sanitary and epidemic observation measures reduced the risk of an outbreak.
Cuba decided in late April to cancel all flights between the two countries, causing light friction, with Mexican President Felipe Calderon calculating the choice of putting off his visit to Cuba scheduled for mid this year.
Cuba has confirmed four cases of H1N1 flu in the country. Among them, three were Mexican students and the other was a child who returned from Toronto with his parents. All of them have recovered. |
