Mark your calendar for November 13-15, 2009 when the 8th Annual Feria Maestros del Arte folk and indigenous art show will be held in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. More than 60 artists from Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, Yucatán, Mexico, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Puebla, Hidalgo, Guanajuato, and Veracruz will attend to sell their extraordinary art.

This year we are proud to host a very special rebozo (shawl) exhibition organized by textile expert Martha Turok and Tia Stephanie Tours. This expo will show side-by-side the best-known Mexican rebozos. Expect demonstrations of the different weaving techniques; learn how the yarn is dyed and processed and why Mexico's rebozos are renowned worldwide.

A Folk Art Buyer's Heaven

If you've never attended Feria Maestros del Arte, treat yourself to a buyer's "heaven" where all the art is conveniently in one place on the edge of beautiful Lake Chapala, shippers are on-site to help you ship your purchases, and there are no middleman prices because the Feria is non-profit. Artists pay nothing to attend - no booth fee, no percentage of sales and they are housed with local families while at the show.

This is truly an opportunity to purchase Mexican arts and crafts from some of the finest artists Mexico has to offer and to meet the artists themselves. There will also be tequila tasting, Mexican food, regional dancing and music as well as a charity raffle each day of art donated by each artist.

For complete information on the Feria, artists who will be attending, information about the Lake Chapala area, please visit MexicoArtShow.com.
