The Birdcage will be playing at the SETAC Community Center on January 19th at 7:30 pm. Admission is free.
Free Movies are shown every Tuesday night at 7:30 pm at the SETAC Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Community Center on the south side of Puerto Vallarta. On Tuesday, January 19th come out for a screening of the 1996 comedy film The Birdcage.
This hilarious comedy tells the story of a gay cabaret owner (Robin Williams) and his drag queen companion (Nathan Lane) who agree to put up a false "straight" front so that their son (Dan Futterman) can introduce them to his fianc้'s (Calista Flockhart) right-wing moralistic parents (Gene Hackman and Dianne Wiest).
A remake of the 1978 film La Cage aux Folles, by Jean Poiret and Francis Veber, starring Michel Serrault and Ugo Tognazzi, The Birdcage gives the original film a fresh new shine and touches upon important social issues which are relevant today.
