Tom's first concert this season in December was a huge hit. The enthusiastic crowd loved the music and the interaction between the musicians and the audience. It was obvious that they were having a great time and enjoyed the audience's response. We all enjoyed the three sets and the additional guest appearances of some of our talented local singers and musicians.
Tom told us that he was inspired by the people of Nuevo Vallarta. He truly enjoyed performing at the Yacht Club last year and had many people request a CD of the band.
Last summer he came down between tours and recorded Suave in Vallarta at a friend's studio. The project involves the same musicians he performed with at the Vallarta Yacht Club. Marcos Milagres on bass and Lazaro Poey on drums & percussion.
Tom told us: My goal was to capture the feeling of a "live performance" with the same energy and passion we play with at the club. I am also singing on a tune I composed for the Yacht Club called "The Yacht Club Blues." It's my first time singing on a recording. All the tunes are originals along with a unique arrangement of Europa composition written by Carlos Santana and myself. The music is 'fusion' which is a combination of Jazz, Rock, Latin and Funk. This is the music I love to play because it is a musical adventure every time we play. We can be creative without any musical boundaries." CDs will be available during the concert at the Club.
