One of the accepted definitions of "cougar," according to the Canadian Oxford Dictionary, is an older woman who pursues or dates younger men.
And now travel companies are starting to cater to that demographic.
Singles Travel Company, a U.S.-based firm that organizes trips for singles, ran its first cougar cruise in December, and the concept proved so successful the company is doing two more this year.
The cruise is for older women and younger men who are interested in them. The next cougar cruise is a seven-day round-trip excursion from Los Angeles May 16 to 23.
The trip, on Royal Caribbean International's Mariner of the Seas, includes stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Prices start at $399 U.S. double occupancy (they'll match you up with a roommate), but the price does not include port fees, taxes and the cost of getting to L.A.
