RISE Fundraiser Tickets at Hotel Mercurio Paul Crist - PVNN February 01, 2010
| Tickets to this fun and worthwhile fundraising event are available at Hotel Mercurio, Francisca Rodríguez #168 on the south side of Puerto Vallarta. | | By now, you’ve probably heard about R.I.S.E. in Puerto Vallarta... it is the Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza. R.I.S.E provides a home for abandoned children and those who were removed from violent domestic situations where there had been abuse.
Presently, they care for 50 children; infants in cribs, toddlers and children from 6 to 12 years old. Additionally, adolescents currently live in a separate house, and all of them attend secondary school. In fact, all the children attend school outside the refuge (14 in preschool, 22 in primary and 4 in secondary schools). Since beginning more than eight years ago, R.I.S.E has supported more than 250 transitory children while they remained with them for a short period of time.
On Saturday, February 6, from 5 to 9 pm, R.I.S.E. will present their big annual fund raiser, R.I.S.E. for HOPE, at the American School in Marina Vallarta. This event includes the participation of some of the finest restaurants in Vallarta; an auction of items donated by local businesses; and live entertainment. All for $450 pesos per person. Some of these children are orphans but most come from unbearable situations having been abused, neglected, or simply abandoned. R.I.S.E. is a Mexican non-profit charitable organization, which accepts donations through a number of charitable organizations. More information about tax deductible donations can be found at their website: Refugio-Infantil.org. |
