CUC University, the Puerto Vallarta Ayuntamiento Department and the municipalities of El Pitillal and Ixtapa have joined forces to bring a wonderful cultural event to the area.

Various states of Mexico will be represented in the First National Folkloric Dance Festival, which began on April 22 and continues through Sunday April 25, 2010 at various locations around the greater Puerto Vallarta area. States being represented include Aguascalientes, Guerrero, Nayarit, Sinaloa and Jalisco.

Names of the dancing groups include "Atamalqualitztli" of Aguascalientes; "Ballet Magisterial" of Los Mochis, Sinaloa; Municipal Group of Bahía de Banderas "Tintoc" and from Nayarit, the Municipal Group "Infantil Vallejo". Jalisco state is represented by "Grupo Huehuecoyotl" from Ixtlahuacan del Rio and the Ballet Municipal of Puerto Vallarta "Xiutla" as well as the CUC University group "Vallarta Azteca". All performances are free and begin at 7 pm.

These events are something that you do not want to miss. The traditional, bright and multi-colored costumes represent a great part of Mexican history and culture. If you are searching for something to do this weekend, be sure and add this to your list!
