Friday, April 30th, was indeed a special day for the children from Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza, a shelter here in Puerto Vallarta. They enjoyed an afternoon of food and fun at Casa Tigre, home of Seth Cloutman and Cristhian Rios.

Activities included swimming, dancing, piñatas, chalk drawing and eating. Muchas gracias particularly to Julie and Jose from No Way José Restaurant, who provided a great lunch for the children and volunteers; Georgia and Gholi Darehshori from Casa Karma who paid for the cake, ice cream, and other party items; and Paul Van Vleck who took some wonderful photos. A great time was had by all.

Seth Cloutman is also the driving force behind the new deli, Para los Niños, located by the second entrance to Conchas Chinas between the OXXO store and Applegate Realty. All profits from this magnificent venture will go to children's charities in Puerto Vallarta, including the Refugio, Pasitos de Luz, Nuestra Huerta (a local elementary school garden project), and the Becas Vallarta scholarship program.

If you are interested in visiting the Refugio or making a donation, please contact the administrator, Sol Martinez Maciel at (322) 222-7857 or 044-322-150-5145 or by email at elsoldevallarta(at)hotmail.com.

The Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza is a non-profit shelter for babies and children under the age of 14. Some of these children are orphans but most come from unbearable situations having been abused, neglected, or simply abandoned. R.I.S.E. is a Mexican non-profit charitable organization, which accepts donations through a number of charitable organizations. More information about tax deductible donations can be found at their website: Refugio-Infantil.org.
