To learn more about Paul, visit his website: PaulVanVleckPhotography.com.
Local professional photographer Paul Van Vleck will be facilitating two Urban Landscape Photography Workshops this month:

June 12th - "Design and Texture"
June 19th - "People and Scenes"

Both workshops will be held at Cafe Bolero on the Isla Rio Cuale from 2-6 pm. A fee of $350 pesos will be charged for each Workshop, which include: light snacks, lecture / handout and fieldwork. (Classes will be in English.)

Paul Van Vleck is a local professional Photographer who will be facilitating these hands on Photography Workshops. Paul moved to Puerto Vallarta about 2 1/2 years ago from Los Cabos. He has lived, worked and is published all over the world. He is a graduate of Brookes Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara (Puerto Vallarta's sister city). To learn more about Paul, visit his website: PaulVanVleckPhotography.com.

These Introductory Workshops are for amateurs and enthusiasts interested in learning more about basic operations of a Digital SLR camera. You will learn what it takes to create an interesting photograph technically and visually and be exposed to what cameras are currently on the market at a mid range price. If you do not have a camera there will be a few available for use and demonstration.

The June 12th "Design and Texture Workshop" will focus more on Close Ups and the Abstract, allowing the individual to explore basic camera techniques and design skills to achieve better color, light, exposure and texture in your imagery. It is a great introduction for the People and Scenes Workshop.

The June 19th "People and Scenes Workshop" will demonstrate photographing People and learn how to create interesting scenic imagery through lighting, exposure and composition. The Design and Texture Workshop will be a great introduction to this one, but is not required.

Both workshop are intended to be informative, creatively stimulating and fun! Cafe Bolero is a lovely, quiet setting on the island near La Casa de la Cultura close to many interesting Urban Settings. We will start with a variety of yummy botanas and agua fresca (beer and Margaritas are available for purchase at half price.)

We will discuss basic techniques of the camera such as: Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, File Size and what camera and lens might be right for you. There will be handouts with diagrams, explanations and a list of cameras available on the market now.

We will also look at examples of artist's works to stimulate your mind. Then you will go out and shoot, and when you return, we will discuss and share what you have done. Paul will be available for questions throughout the day.

Paul facilitated a very successful and fun Photography Workshop on Design in Nature at the Botanical Gardens in 2008 and he is looking forward to doing it again at a different location and with a new theme!

Please contact him for more information, space is limited and reservations are required. He can be reached on his cell 044-322-171-1163, landline (322) 113-0253 or by email: PaulVanVleck(at)gmail.com.
