Children of the Dump / School of Champions Summer Program Art Fumerton - feedthechildrenvallarta.com June 10, 2010
| For more information, contact Arthur Fumerton at ArthurEFumerton(at)Yahoo.com or 044-322-158-8815. To make an online donation please visit FeedTheChildrenVallarta.com. | | This summer we will open the School of Champions for a summer camp filled with fun activities for the children, for 4 weeks from July 14 through August 8. We will accommodate 100 children from the areas around the city dump.
We will have classes in arts and crafts, music and dancing, computer and outdoor games including swimming. We will also utilize our Children of the Dump bus to take children on daily excursions to restaurants, hotels, businesses and tourist venues throughout the Puerto Vallarta area. We will serve the children a hot breakfast and sandwiches for lunch.
| These children need to have fun this summer. Without the camp they will be stuck at their homes with the dust and heat and nothing to do, or sent to work. | | We have some volunteers to operate the camp and the vehicles to move the children around, but we need cash donations to support the operation including gas and food. We also need supplies for the various activities.
$20 USD sends one child to camp for a month, so we need to collect about $2,000 USD in donations in order to fund the camp, and we always need more volunteers.
Please help us and send your donations directly to: Children of the Dump in Puerto Vallarta 227 E. Carol Way, Phoenix, AZ 85022-3054 OR call Art Fumerton in Puerto Vallarta at 044-322-158-8815

About the Feed the Children Vallarta (formerly Children of the Dump)
Feed the Children was founded in 1998, originally as Desayunos Para Los Niños de Vallarta, a Mexican non profit, tax exempt corporation. Through private donations, the program feeds more than 1,500 children daily in 5 primary schools around the dump, operates nine day care centers and an after-school program for 300 students in grades 3 through 6, teaching them English, math and computing. The goal of the Feed the Children Vallarta is to ensure education through grade nine and to educate the children of Puerto Vallarta in the skills necessary to rise above poverty.
