Mexico City - Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, or GAP, said Thursday that passenger traffic at its 12 airports rose 11% in July from a year ago, to slightly more than 2 million.
Domestic traffic rose 7.85 to 1.37 million passengers, while international traffic jumped 20% to 636,000, GAP said in a filing with the Mexican Stock Exchange.
Overall traffic at GAP's top airport, in the western city of Guadalajara, increased 16% to 721,700 passengers. Passenger traffic at the next-biggest airport, in Tijuana, rose 8.3% to 374,400.
GAP's total passenger traffic in the first seven months of the year rose 7% from the similar 2009 period, to 12.24 million.
The company noted that low-cost carriers VivaAerobus and Interjet each opened one route last month.
GAP's local B shares closed 0.6% lower Thursday at 40.26 pesos ($3.20). |
