Mexican Actor Gael Garcia Bernal to Be Dad for Second Time Latin American Herald Tribune go to original September 27, 2010
| Gael Garcia Bernal | | Mexico City – Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal revealed on his Twitter account that he is expecting his second child with the Argentine actress Dolores Fonzi.
“Yes! We’re making the announcement official: we’ve got a baby on the way. Tremendous and complete happiness that we share with all of you. A big hug from us, it’s party time,” Garcia Bernal wrote Friday.
His first child, Lazaro, was born in January in Madrid, where the couple went toward the end of her pregnancy for a little peace and quiet, far from the hounding of paparazzi in their respective countries.
The future parents have received, also via Twitter, congratulations from the singer Julieta Venegas, who became a mom for the first time a short while ago, and of actress Irene Azuela, star of “El Atentado” (File of Attempted Murder), both compatriots of hers.
Gael Garcia Bernal, 31, is one of the most outstanding actors of the new generation of Mexican cinema, and has successfully found his niche on the international scene with “Y Tu Mama Tambien” (And Your Mother Too) and “Amores Perros” (Love’s a Bitch).”
Until several years ago he was considered one of the offscreen Romeos of international films, sweeping leading ladies like the actress Natalie Portman off their feet.
But the actor’s career took a new turn in 2008 with the film “Deficit,” and he now runs the successful Canana Films production company with his friend and professional associate Diego Luna. |
