Puerto Vallarta Remembers Bill Christy PVNN September 27, 2010
| Puerto Vallarta Navy Leaguer Bill Christy passed away on September 24th. We extend our condolences to any family or friends reading this for their loss. | | William Bruce "Bill" Christy, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on September 24, 2010 at the age of 73. Bill was born on October 4, 1936 in Fowler, Indiana. He was the faithful husband of Edith M. Christy "Pat" for 49 years, and beloved brother of Marianne McClintock of Thousand Oaks, California.
Bill is the father of three sons and one daughter: Martin Albers, Kristina Hogan, Robert Christy and William L.Christy; dear uncle of Tom McClintock and Virginia Petru. He was a loving grandfather to: Ingrid Whitehead, Angie Johnson, Kelly Albers-Cerklewski, Eric Christy, Andrew Albers and Sam Harsha, and the five great grand-grandchildren: Aryana Whitehead, Kayla Whitehead, Matthew Johnson, Jada Johnson and Ryliegh Christy. His friend Jimmy Staggs was always there for him.
Mr. Christy was a retired Captain in the United States Coast Guard Reserve. He served as an active duty Coast Guard Officer in Alaska and St. Louis for 3 years. He also worked for 30 years in management for Chase Bag Company in St. Louis.
Bill graduated from Purdue University in 1959 as an Industrial Economist. His many organizations include: American Legion, Purdue Alumni Association, Navy League of Puerto Vallarta, Reserve Officers Association and the Lindell Club.
Memorial Services will be celebrated in the chapel at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave., St.Louis, MO on Wednesday September 29, 11:00 AM. Funeral Services to be held immediately after at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis MO at 12:30 pm.
