International Gourmet Festival Promoted in Mexico RivieraNayarit.com go to original October 22, 2010
| The XVI International Gourmet Festival Vallarta, scheduled to take place from November 11-21 in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, is being promoted worldwide. | | The International Gourmet Festival taking place in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta is being promoted intensely. On Friday, October 8, the Festival and the CVB of Riviera Nayarit presented the novelties of its 2010 edition, which will take place from November 11-21 in both destinations. Twenty-seven members of the specialized media were present at a press conference in Mexico City.
The press conference, which took place at the Westin Santa Fe, was organized jointly by the organizers of the XVI International Gourmet Festival and the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) of Riviera Nayarit, and focused on the promotion of the gastronomic excellence of both destinations.
Thierry Blouet, Heinz Reize and Roland Menetrey, founders of the Festival and icons of the local culinary scene, explained that just like every year, chefs from all over the world will gather to exchange ideas with the local chefs, and visitors will enjoy their creations and even learn some of their culinary secrets.
Directors of the CVB of Riviera Nayarit, as well as state authorities and participating chefs, assured that this new edition of the International Gourmet Festival is one of the most important assets to promote both destinations.
The Festival will take place at the most renowned restaurants and hotels of Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, and will add new elements to the original concept, including the chef's table, tequila tastings, wine and cheese samplings, cooking classes with simultaneous translation, as well as a spectacular gala dinner.
This year, the Gourmet Festival will expand to Tepic and San Blas, with many surprises awaiting both diners and participant experts.
Riviera Nayarit displays its culinary leadership by hosting events with such a great magnitude and exclusivity as this one, which also serve to attract tourism to this region. Numerous new restaurants are opening their doors in this region, many of which hold the Five Diamond Stars award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
The State Government, headed by Ney Gonzalez Sanchez, has greatly promoted tourism by considering it a key factor to the integral development of the state, which in turn has allowed for the development of high quality products and the advancement of world-class gastronomy.
