The International Gourmet Festival that took place in Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta on November 11 - 21 became an important asset to the promotion of both tourist destinations, but mainly for Riviera Nayarit, as specialized media from tourist and culinary publications assembled here to report on what the participating restaurants and their guest chefs had to offer.
Contreras visited some of the participating restaurants at the International Gourmet Festival, traveling from Tepic to San Blas and Nuevo Vallarta, and enjoyed the popular tourist attractions of Riviera Nayarit, broadcasting live for a week to create a complete coverage of the event.
Radio Formula Jalisco visited Emiliano restaurant, enjoyed the food of Paty Quintana and wandered through downtown Tepic. They also visited San Blas and La Tovara, and enjoyed Pedro Ortega's cuisine at El Delfin restaurant. They swam with dolphins in Nuevo Vallarta and broadcasted live from Hotel Villa La Estancia, where David Reyes created special dishes. They wrapped up the week by doing an open-mike from the Marietas Islands, where they enjoyed the natural wonders of the area.
A group of journalists from Cronicas del Sabor, Tourismo Gourmet, Donde Ir de Viaje and El Gourmet attended the opening event of the International Gourmet Festival: the World Fest Gourmet Party at Villa La Estancia restaurant. Together with renowned chef Patricia Quintana, participants had the opportunity to visit the Salsa Huichol hot sauce factory, which is essential to the cuisine of Nayarit.
The party of journalists also delighted in the flavors of San Francisco offered by Roumal Feger, who was the guest chef at St. Regis Punta Mita. They also tried the delicacies that chef Alejandro Ruiz brought from Oaxaca to Café des Artistes del Mar and took part in a gastronomic safari by touring Nicksan, Omaggio at Marival Residences, Lucca at Grand Velas and Tramonto at Grand Mayan, where Pascal Molines dazzled them with extraordinary desserts.
The gastronomical journey done by these important publications will earn Riviera Nayarit major media exposure in the upcoming months, focusing on a market segment of specialized, high-end tourism.
Twelve Riviera Nayarit restaurants participated at the Festival, offering a wide variety of influences and tendencies. Nicksan, Café des Artistes del Mar at Hotel des Artistes, Frascatti, Omaggio at Marival Residences, Sea Breeze at St. Regis, Lucca at Grand Velas, Tramonto at Grand Mayan, La Casona at Villa La Estancia, Porto Fino at Dreams Villa Magna, El Delfín at Garza Canela Hotel in San Blas, Emiliano Restaurant in Tepic and Ketsi at Four Seasons were present at the event.
