The carrier added seasonal service between San Diego and the Mexican resort city of Puerto Vallarta. Alaska will fly one daily round-trip flight through April 11. The airline also flies to Puerto Vallarta from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.

In a release announcing the service, Alaska says: "Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air fly to nine destinations in Mexico, including seven West Coast and Baja Peninsula resort areas as well as Guadalajara and Mexico City."

From Portland, Ore., Alaska Air began flying to Kona on Hawaii's "Big Island." The carrier will fly four weekly round-trip flights between the cities through April 9. Alaska also flies from Portland to the Hawaiian destinations of Kahului, Maui, and Honolulu.

In a release announcing the service, Alaska Airlines says: "With the new Portland-Kona service, Alaska Airlines offers 101 nonstop flights a week to four islands in Hawaii from Anchorage, Alaska, and six West Coast destinations."
