Becas Christmas Ballet Under the Stars

This Christmas, and for the first time in Puerto Vallarta, Becas is most proud to present Christmas Ballet Under the Stars, performed by the Academia Pro-Danza's maestra Deborah Bravo in the enchanting grounds of the Casa Magna Marriott Resort and Spa on Saturday, December 18 at 6:30 pm.
 This well-known successful local classical ballet school, Pro-Danza, has been active on the Vallarta scene as well as on a national level for over a decade earning several first prizes at National Competitions of Choreography of Classical and Neoclassical Dances and numerous other top-level rankings.
The Academy has also benefited from various teaching exchanges with famous choreography masters from the former Soviet Union such as Saule Kuvatova and Ryskul Musabaeva.
Many of Maestra Bravo's students have since gone on to perfect their skills with major ballet schools in the United States, to return performing with Pro-Danza on prestigious stages around Mexico, Monterrey, Aguascalientes and Morelia, and the famed Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara, memorable among which was the traditional Christmas favourite, P.I. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Ballet Suite, performed with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra.
The public here meanwhile enjoyed Pro-Danza's countless performances on various stages of major hotels and functions hosted by the Vallarta Culture Department.
The evening's program itself will include various music by the beloved Frederic Chopin, Minkus, Lee Holdridge (who, as many may recall, also scored the soundtrack of the movie Puerto Vallarta Squeeze), Leo Delibes, Johann Strauss among many others. The dance choreography includes Deborah's own, as well as that of Saule Kuvatova, Ryskul Musabaeva's and the legendary Marius Petipa.
As always, this fund raising event will benefit the needy but meritorious children through academic scholarships awarded by Becas Vallarta while supporting Biblioteca Los Mangos' fledgling but promising music education program and Academia Pro-Danza ballet school as well.
With Casa Magna Marriott's magnanimous support, attendees can also enjoy a 15% discount on presenting tickets for their after-concert dinner at any of the hotel's well-appointed restaurants - and there will also be a cash bar at the concert venue.
