On Saturday, March 26th at 2 pm, join noted author and engaging public speaker Dr. Leslie Korn as she discusses the making of Medicines of the Jungle, her bi-lingual full color book on indigenous and biomedical science about local plants and foods at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens.
This book project was developed out of community participation to address the effects of development and violence on rural women's lives and was part of a 3 year holistic project to sustain and restore traditional knowledge about the medicinal and nutritional values of plants in Cabo Corrientes.
Dr. Korn will discuss her recent research, supported by a joint Mexico-US Fulbright award, about the indigenous uses and medical science underlying some well known and a few less well-known plants and fruits, including Capomo.
Don't miss Dr. Leslie Korn at 2 pm on March 26th at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens 3rd Annual Flower & Garden Show. You will have the opportunity to join in a lively Q & A and to purchase a signed edition of her book.
