Bob Price, co-founder of the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club and curator of the spectacular Vallarta Botanical Gardens informed membership at our last meeting at Rivera Cuale that the city has agreed to have the garden club fill 23 planters erected near the Flea Market and area, including Encino and Agustin Rodriguez in coordination with Rescate del Centro Historio Puerto Vallarta.
Members will seek businesses who will support this undertaking at the low cost of $5000 pesos. A tile plaque will be made and attached to that planter. Four older planters along Encino have been planted and are looking good. Proper care of watering, pruning and fertilizing will be essential for their success.
Some work will be permitted along the stretch of Basilio Badillo newly remodeled with wider southside sidewalk and new planters. One business has agreed already. We are seeking uniformity within reason so the general look will not be hodgepodge.
Contact us if your business would be interested in this very fine longterm improvement of Puerto Vallarta or if you wish to attend the next Puerto Vallarta Garden Club meeting at 11 am on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Rivera Cuale, open to all. Membership dues are $200 pesos.
