The Vallarta Chamber Orchestra is delighted with the addition of several talented musicians over the last few months.
About to close its 7th season, the performing group is proud to announce that it is doing so featuring guest soloists, as well as a local composer at the Vallarta Chamber Orchestra's upcoming concert at the American School Puerto Vallarta, Colegio Americano, on Sunday, March 27th at 8:00 pm.
On the program will be soloists from the Dove String Quartet based in Redmond, Oregon. Professional musicians, Carol Kirkman and Leslie Knight, will be performing the Bach Double Concerto for two violins. They have also agreed to join the orchestra for the entire program.
The performance will also feature local composer Jose Felix Oliveros' Fugue in E minor, for string quartet. Adding even more "flavor" to this special performance, Jose's brother, Reyes Abelardo Oliveros, one of the Chamber Orchestra's violinists, will make his first appearance in the Chamber Orchestra's String Quartet; as they perform his brother's Fugue.
Under the direction of conductor, Don Bieghler, the orchestral works on the program includes the St. Paul Suite, a work in 4 movements by Gustav Holst. Also included will be music from the film, Summer of '42, Irish Tune from County Derry, and much more...
