Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The biggest tourism fair of Mexico where thousands of travel agents from all over the world get together to get to know hotels, airlines, travel agents, DMCs, restaurants and the attractive destinations of Mexico in general is looking for a new location!

For 35 years Acapulco has been the host to this huge event, but Mexico's Administration for Tourism (Sectur) has decided that they will hold the 2012 edition in another city. On the 15th of June, Sectur will decide which city will organize the next edition.

The Tianguis Turistico is Mexico's own version of the ITB in Berlin, or the WTM in London.

Many cities in Mexico are dying to receive the next Tianguis; it will give a huge boom to the destination. Imagine that thousands of travel agents come to our city to promote it back to where they are from!

Mazatlan, Cancun, Leon, Guadalajara, Monterrey and several other cities have started their own campaign to get the tourism fair to their cities. Also, Puerto Vallarta together with Rivera Nayarit are now competing in this race, and you can help!
