August 17 Update: The August 18 Coffee with the Author, Staci Marquez-Nichols has been cancelled. Stay tuned for upcoming events at the paradise Community Center.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Every month the ExPats in Vallarta and the Book and Bean Coffee Shop sponsor a unique event called "Coffee With the Author." Last month, the featured author was fiction writer David Lyons, who recently signed with Simon and Schuster.
David Lyons is the author of Mexico's Hidden Gold, Jazz Age Rondo, and Riding Guts 'N' Glory. Guests get to hear the author read from both published and unpublished works, answer their questions, and sign copies of their books.
August's featured author is non-fiction writer Staci Marquez-Nichols, who will read from her books, e-books, print articles, and published poetry. Staci is a full-time freelance writer who will discuss how to make a living as a writer. She has written 101 Vegetarian Eating & Living Tips (Life Tips, 2009), How to Please Your Man (Vook, 2011), and a variety of self-published e-books.
Staci has also published poetry in the Coal City Review, Alternatives to Surrender anthology, San Gabriel Valley Quarterly, and with Hot Metal Press. Staci has published print articles in the Writers' Journal, Spanglish Times, and MD News. Additionally, she has ghostwritten for many famous writers.
