Get involved! Beach cleanup volunteers will meet at 9:30 am on Saturday, September 17th at Punta Sayulita’s Beach House (on the beach next to Don Pedro’s.)

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Real estate developer Punta Sayulita continues with their ongoing beach cleanup events in Sayulita, Riviera Nayarit, partnering with Ocean Conservancy for the next one, to take place on Saturday, September 17, at Punta Sayulita’s Beach House (on the beach next to Don Pedro’s.)

Over the past 25 years, Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup has become the world’s largest volunteer effort for ocean health. Nearly nine million volunteers from 152 countries and locations have cleaned 145 million pounds of trash from the shores of lakes, streams, rivers, and the ocean on just one day each year.

They have recorded every item found, giving us a clear picture of the manufactured items impacting the health of humans, wildlife, and economies. As our 2011 report demonstrates, the body of data from the International Coastal Cleanup has inspired action to rid the ocean of harmful trash.

In addition, the Punta Sayulita event will feature stand-up paddle relay races to take place immediately following the beach clean-up. Prizes will be offered. Learn more about Punta Sayulita’s events on their website. Also, visit OceanConservancy.org.
