Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Vallarta Yacht Club's Junior Sailing program is intended to expose youngsters 8 to 12 who reside in the Banderas Bay Area to the enjoyment of sailing. Since the program's inception the young people participating have earned almost 30 combined gold, silver and bronze Junior Olympics medals in Mexican competition.
It is the intent of the Vallarta Yacht Club that no child with a desire to learn to sail be denied the opportunity. The club has various scholarship opportunities to help those with need to make the program cost affordable.
To help defray the cost of these scholarships as well as the cost of equipment maintenance and travel to various competitions throughout Mexico, the Junior Program conducts two important fund raisers each year, one in the fall and again in the spring. This year's fall fundraiser will coincide with the 2 day Regata de la Revolución.
The fall fundraiser will be held on Saturday, November 19th at the Vallarta Yacht Club Clubhouse and will feature a 3 course sit-down meal. The event will start at 6:00 pm. The cost is $300 pesos for adults and $150 pesos for kids 12 and under.
There will be raffle prizes, auction, and fun for everyone. Prizes include restaurant dinners, spa treatments, Vallarta Adventures tours, merchandise and more. All proceeds to the Program for Scholarships, Competition, and Equipment.
